Luis Janeiro is team lead End-use sectors at IRENA’s Innovation and Technology Centre, in Bonn, Germany. His current work focuses primarily on providing advice and guidance to IRENA Members on the role of renewables in hard to decarbonize end-use sectors, including industry. He has co-authored several IRENA studies exploring decarbonised energy systems with high shares of renewables, including IRENA’s 2030 roadmap for the European Union and IRENA’s World Energy Transitions Outlook. Before joining IRENA, Luis was senior consultant on energy and climate policy at Ecofys (now Guidehouse). Luis holds an MSc degree in Sustainable Development from the University of Utrecht, a postgraduate diploma in Renewable Energies from the University of Santiago (Spain) and a BEng in Industrial Engineering from the University of Vigo (Spain).
